Rob is a PIM (Private Investment Management) Portfolio Manager with over 30 years of experience, and the founding Director of the Cheney Group of Family Wealth Management, a private wealth management practice associated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network (WFAFN). He also founded the branch with WFAFN in 2013; affiliating with WFAFN for record-keeping and custodian services. WFAFN is the facilitator of our client transactions and safe-keeper of our client assets. He is also currently serving as the Branch Manager for more than a dozen Financial Advisors at three locations. He is pleased to work with the entire Family Wealth Management team. He has served as a Financial Advisor to many large, well-known, Utah employer 401(k) plans and high-net-worth families. His clients are entrepreneurs, corporate executives, retirees, professionals, high net-worth individuals, and other organizations. He has a long history of providing investments with predictable income and assisting his clients with identifying strategies to accumulate, preserve, and transfer their assets. Along with his team, Rob believes that a good “fit” is always two-sided, and is usually determined by beginning with planning conversations and investment planning tools such as eMoney.
Planning helps us to be sure we understand the complexities that come with each client’s wealth, and to have clear communication about what they will do with their money. We want each client to be aware of the comprehensive services – in addition to planning and investments – that the Cheney Group team of Family Wealth Management can provide. Our mission, as your primary relationship manager, is to help you navigate your financial roadmap, provide clear direction, and to be there with you as you attain lifelong goals.
Rob loves his career! He acknowledges how hard clients work for their money, and the significant responsibility of helping them grow and protect it. He enjoys helping people seek and work to secure financial freedom, using innovative and forward-thinking strategies. He likes to help new clients get their money working harder by pulling “weeds” from their outdated portfolios. In addition, he looks forward to helping clients get and stay on track, through conversations that serve as check-ups, strategy assessments, reviewing and measuring the progress of personal client goals and objectives.
Rob and his team can help you with questions like:
- Will I make it?
- Do I have financial blind spots?
- What will my retirement income look like?
- What is included in the realm of Family Office concierge services?
